Steuben County Major Watersheds:

Water that falls and flows through Steuben County eventually drains into the Great Lakes Basin. Steuben County is divided into two (2) major watersheds: the Saint Joseph River (West) indicated as the Blue Area, and the Saint Joseph River (East) indicated as the Yellow Area. The Blue Area, that is a part of the St. Joe River (West) watershed, flows through South Bend, IN on its way to drain into Lake Michigan. The Yellow Area, that is a part of the St. Joe River (East) watershed, flows through Fort Wayne, IN on its way to drain into Lake Erie. These 2 Major Watersheds have been divided into 5 Primary Watersheds.
